The plastic bottle cap mold market is a market with huge demand, multiple segmented markets, and high competitive pressure. More and more manufacturers are joining the plastic bottle cap mold market, and diversified and differentiated plastic bottle caps are constantly innovating. But people don't understand that plastic bottle cap molds are also prone to rusting. So, what are the reasons for plastic bottle cap molds rusting under normal circumstances?
The usual cause of rusting on plastic bottle cap molds is the gas produced by the decomposition of molten material due to overheating. If it occurs during the pause in molding, the corrosive gas around the plastic bottle cap mold is mold rusting. For this reason, after stopping injection molding, the mold must be wiped clean with a clean soft cloth. When not molding, the mold must be closed to prevent corrosion caused by gases generated by other injection machines around it. When closing the plastic bottle cap mold, remember to apply butter and don't forget to block the mold during pouring. If the molding stops for a long time, spray rust inhibitor or other substances in the mold cavity. Before spraying, wipe the mold cavity clean with a soft cloth until there are no rust spots.
If the surface of the mold cavity is stained with slag like carbides, causing rusting of the plastic mold, it should be promptly eliminated; The carbides generated by precipitation and decomposition in molding materials often cause wear or corrosion of the mold. Once discovered, they should be immediately wiped off with a dry cloth. Although the electroplating layer inside the mold cavity is generally beneficial for rust prevention, it is not completely effective. Sometimes corrosive gases can cause deep corrosion through the pores on the surface of the coating. The method to avoid coating corrosion is to frequently wipe the plastic bottle cap mold.
Cooling water in the mold can easily cause rusting of the plastic bottle cap mold. If the mold is cooled below zero, moisture in the air will form water droplets on the surface of the mold, and if not wiped off, it will rust. Although the molding process will not be exposed, condensation will immediately occur after stopping molding. It is best not to stop molding during the production process. Even if it is necessary to stop, the cooling water should be turned off and the surface of the plastic bottle cap mold should be wiped dry.
When the above situation occurs, it is necessary to ensure timely protection work to prevent the plastic bottle cap mold from rusting.
